The Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Program is open to any student in grades 9-12. Students enrolled in the program will spend half of their school day at their home school, and the other half at the JROTC program, housed at Harrison High School. Transportation to and from the student’s home school will be provided by the EVSC.
Students enrolled in JROTC wil take courses in: JROTC, PE, Health, Civics and other various high school credits.
Enlistment Seal
Students who participate in JROTC for at least one year also will have the opportunity to earn the Enlistment Seal as part of Indiana’s new graduation pathways. The enlistment seal was developed by the Indiana National Guard and ensures students who earn the seal are mentally, physically and emotionally prepared to join the military after high school graduation.

Uniforms
Cadets wear uniforms once a week and when participating in a ceremony and when representing JROTC in an off campus activity. Uniforms are issued at no cost to cadets at the beginning of the year and returned at the end of the year.
Career Benefits
While students enrolled in JROTC have no obligation to join the Armed Forces upon graduation, participation in JROTC does allow students to enlist in the Armed Forces at an advanced rate of up to E-3, if they meet enlistment requirements and are enrolled for all 4 years. Students who participated in JROTC are also better prepared for basic training and have a competitive edge when it comes to college ROTC and scholarships

Any student who attends high school in EVSC can join. Contact your school counselor or call 812-476-3051, ext. 77033 if you are interested in becoming a member of the EVSC Eagle JROTC BN.
